It is with pleasure to announce that two of my pieces from the Rumi Series have been selected through a juried committee to be featured in London Biennale 2015. This will take place from January 20th to January 25th 2015 at the Chelsea Old Town Hall on the King's Road in Chelsea, London. In 2013, the Biennale was a great success, acclaimed by the public and also by international art critics. The selection of 140+ artists represented 21 century in all its styles, expressions and forms. It's really exciting to be part of this amazing event in one of the most artistic cities in the world. Frank Gehry's Guggenheim, shines in the heart of Bilbao... /
There are so many amazing cities to visit within Spain . As for me, I always wanted to go to Bilbao for one and only reason ; to visit Frank Gehry's Guggenheim Museum up close and once I was in front of it, I found it even more mesmerizing than the images we all have seen. The amazing Canadian/American architect has created a masterpiece using titanium, limestone and glass and has designed the seemingly random curves of the exterior in a way to catch the light and react to the sun and the weather. In fact, the building is more easily read than it first appears, to the south, the dialogue is with the city, stones, rectangles windows alined, to the north there is empathy with water; fluid shapes. When volumes are separated figurative silhouettes appear and although the metallic form of the exterior looks almost floral from above, from the ground the building resembles a boat, evoking the past industrial life of the port of Bilbao. Make sure to visit this amazing building on different time of the day. My favorite is by far when the sun is setting. You will be able to see the magic of Frank Gehry with lights and the way he plays with them... Make sure to watch "Sketches of Frank Gehry" - An inspiring documentary by Sydney Pollack.
Blanc Space opens its doors on Pilsen's 2nd Friday Gallery Walk /
Blanc Space is very new to the Pilsen neighborhood . Being part of the Chicago Arts District, Blanc Space is showcasing works by two resident artists, Sarvin Haghighi and Suk Ja Kang. Coming from two different cultures and backgrounds, the resident artists have used their unique way to voice their stories in a similar way. Every second Friday of the month, more than 30 galleries of Chicago Art District invite the public to view the new and exciting exhibitions and tonight we can not wait for everyone to see the new pieces.
