My body lusts for soul and soul for me...

Rumi sessions keep flowing through my soul and it's coming through different shapes and colors. It's created a new language of love. We hear his poetry and we delve into his world and listen for its echoes in our own. The world of Rumi is neither exclusively the world related to any particular religion; it is a state of an evolved human who is not bound by cultural limitations, a one who touches every one of us. As per the reflection of his poems, we see him as an impassionate seeker of the truth and love. It all began when Rumi met Shams, the impact of which left an everlasting impression on Rumi and his work. It's just another reminder to us that you would never know where your next inspiration may come from or who might actually aid furthering your growth. Few years later, when Shams disappeared, Rumi fell into a deep state of grief and gradually out of that pain outpoured thousands of poems which are collected in two epic books named "Divan-e-Shams-e-Tabrizi" and "Massnavi". In my new series of work, I have used some of these mesmerizing poems mixing them with Persian symbols and colors. Stay tuned for more images.  

And the magic of Rumi continues...

Rumi is still flowing through me. There are so many ideas in my head, more than what I could express sometimes, there are times I ask myself will I have the time to share all that I want to say? will people get my message? but then again, I always know that it does not matter, I just need to get the ideas out and share them as much as I can. It was then when I started working on a series of 8x8 inches pieces all at once. Just like small pieces of tiles in Islamic architecture where they form a shape, these works complement each other; colors, shapes, poems, they all fall into its place like a jigsaw. Working on new series right after these which will be shown on the next 2nd Friday. Stay tuned for pictures...

Sarvin Haghighi's Rumi Series will be part of London Biennale 2015

It is with pleasure to announce that two of my pieces from the Rumi Series have been selected through a juried committee to be featured in London Biennale 2015. This will take place from January 20th to January 25th 2015 at the Chelsea Old Town Hall on the King's Road in Chelsea, London. In 2013, the Biennale was a great success, acclaimed by the public and also by international art critics. The selection of 140+ artists represented 21 century in all its styles, expressions and forms. It's really exciting to be part of this amazing event in one of the most artistic cities in the world.
