As a young girl who was born on the year of Islamic Revolution in Iran and went through 8 years of Iran-Iraq war, I remember seeing lots of political graffiti and statements on the walls of Tehran. I believe in power of writing and affirmation and truly believe by writing down words, we are sending a message to universe, hence by writing "Love" in Farsi over and over again, I aim to circulate this positive energy within the spaces I exhibit and invite all viewers to experience the power of positivity and spirituality. I try to affirm the enduring aesthetic of a culture that is too often represented through the limited lenses of war and political turmoil. I want my pieces to be part of a journey for the viewers and to start a dialogue.
