Rumi is still flowing through me. There are so many ideas in my head, more than what I could express sometimes, there are times I ask myself will I have the time to share all that I want to say? will people get my message? but then again, I always know that it does not matter, I just need to get the ideas out and share them as much as I can. It was then when I started working on a series of 8x8 inches pieces all at once. Just like small pieces of tiles in Islamic architecture where they form a shape, these works complement each other; colors, shapes, poems, they all fall into its place like a jigsaw. Working on new series right after these which will be shown on the next 2nd Friday. Stay tuned for pictures...

Brief information on my new series: Rumi Sessions /
Rumi is the most influential poets, jurists, theologians and Sufi mystics of the 13th century. During his lifetime he a produced range of inspiring and devotional poetry which encapsulates the Sufi's experience of union with the divine. For many of us he means so much more. We have a different connection with poetry and for me Rumi has always been a big part of my life. We grew up reading his poems. In our culture we grew up getting to know his poems in what we call " Rumi Reading Sessions" where we gather, read parts of his poems and analyze it all together. These sessions are very close to our hearts and is part of our culture which I'm very proud of. As a debut to the memory and also to share this beautiful mystic part of my culture, I invite you all to view some of the pieces of this series.
