Censorship!!! by sarvin

Many of us have been censored throughout our lives in different ways. From not expressing what we think freely to avoid being judged to not being able to access movies, magazines and articles without being cut off. My version of censorship which was recently displayed in ARC Gallery via a juried exhibition is two pieces - each 36"x48" inches - one shows the censorship on many middle eastern magazines where nudity is hidden with a black marker; and the other shows another side of censorship where there is lack of freedom of speech. Sarvin's upcoming Group Exhibition - Fractured yet rising by sarvin

Through a juried competition, I was selected alongside a group of great artists to be part of the "Fractured yet rising" exhibit at Arc Gallery in Chicago.
This exhibit will explore the theme of violence by engaging with story and experience. Violence takes many forms: physical and verbal, direct and indirect, economic, social and more. It cuts across cultures, boundaries and identities.
Below is part of the 2 paintings in the exhibit, come and join us for the opening :)
Opening - Saturday - March 7th - 6-9 pm
Address - ARC Gallery - 2156 N Damen, Chicago
